Follow our experiences in self building our ecohouse on the west coast of Scotland on the Isle of Gigha on our croft plus the occasional rant about life the universe and everything. Our build is pretty innovative in being roundhouses (2 x linked dodecahedra) built in Structural Insulated Panels with no internal structural walls or timbers and with a turf roof. Never been done before or so we think. Check out our website at http://www.ecoroundhouse.co.uk/

Hurricane Katia
"As any fule kno a hurican menes verry strong winds". Hurricane Katia is on its way - waiting a few hundred miles out into the Atlantic to blow our plans away - if the forecast of 40-65 knot winds every day between now and Weds morning is anything to go by then there will be no more building this next week - and no working in Campbeltown either as the ferries will be off - so it is an ill wind indeed.
Only short gusts of 25 knots here at present. In fact it's been rather a pleasant day, even the gusts were a nice temperature. Maybe West Wales will miss out for a change.
